"I'm Katy. And I sort of figured all that out on my own." she said. "Why did you come down here and argue with him, anyway?"

Darren shrugged. "Dunno, just kinda pisses me off. I mean, we did nothing to him, and he wants to kill us. More likely, we'll probably die of insanity. The dude doesn't get to the point, he likes to monologue the entire time. He never shuts up."

Katy smiled.
"Yeah I noticed that." she said.

Darren slightly smiled back and turned towards the darkness. "So, uh... You wanna take a walk with me or something?"

"Sure." Katy says and starts walking forward, expecting that Darren will follow.

Darren shrugged and followed. "So, uh, Katy... Uhm. First, I guess, where are you from?"

"Well originally I'm from London, but I've been moving around a lot for the past couple hundred years. You?" Katy says.

"I'm from Arizona, then moved to Nevada before I was young. In California, I visited a freak show, the Cirque Du Freak. Long story short, I made some bad decisions, and now I'm a half Vampire." He said, sighing and moving his head slightly to move hair out of his eyes.

"Ah. I didn't realize you were only half vampire." Katy says.

He shrugged. "Eh, there's a few ups and downs. Mostly more ups than downs."

"I couldn't imagine being only half vampire." Katy says, more to herself than to Darren. "Can you still eat human food or just blood?"

Darren looked to her, slightly confused. "Uhm...Both. But, can't all vampires eat both blood and human food...? Mr. Crepsley had no trouble with human food." He pointed out.

Now Katy is a bit confused. "Yeah we all can; it's just like eating nothing though. And who is Mr. Crepsley?" she says.

Darren sighed. He explained his pastdue friend, and explained the whole story. "...And as he was fighting Steve...He couldn't do it, and was thrown...into the burning stakes..." He finished

Katy listened intently while Darren explained who Mr. Crepsley was.
"Oh." is all she can think to say when he's done.
