Mei sat down at the table with her coffee in hand. She hadn't been anywhere in California for quite some time and was only here now because Katrien had told her come. Why a vampire would ever want to spend the day in Los Angeles, Mei would never understand.

Katy pushed open the door and pulled off her sunglasses. She spotted Mei quickly and went to sit across from her. It was amazing how paranoid she got when she was in L.A., thinking that everyone here was planning to attack her at some point. Of course it probably just the memories it brought back, since no one here but Mei even knew she was a vampire.
"Hey." Katrien said as she sat down. Mei's curiosity was clear on her face before she even said anything, which Katy didn't bother giving her the chance to do. "I know you're probably wondering why I chose here, of all places, to meet you at. Honestly I have no desire to be here, but since you've been avoiding the whole state so vehemently for the past year, I decided it was time you got over it and came down here." she explained quickly.

Mei took a moment to consider what Kat had said. She didn't know if she should be mad or grateful or what. And she didn't know what to say, either. So after a moment of thought, Mei simply said: "Oh."

Katrien smiled, relieved that Mei wasn't upset about it, and went right on ahead with the conversation...

Liz was walking down the street, staring at the sidewalk and counting her steps out of sheer boredom. With a sigh she looked up and noticed that she was right outside of Starbucks. Why not? She thinks to herself and walks inside. Lizzy isn't particularly hungry or thirsty, only bored. She looks around the room, spots Katrien, and walks over to her. "Hi Kat." Elizabeth says to the vampiress.

Katrien and Mei both looked up at the same time.
"Oh. Hi Liz." Katy said, surprised.
She hadn't been expecting to see Liz here, but doesn't want to be rude.
"Why don't you join us?" she adds on out of politeness.

Liz pulls up another chair and situates herself between Katy and the human girl. She doesn't remember ever meeting this human before. "You gonna introduce me to your friend?" She asks, smiling.

"Oh right. Liz this is Mei, Mei this is Liz." Katy introduces the two, gesturing at each as she says their names.

Uncomfortable with the silence, Mei clears her throat. "So how do you know Katy?" she asks Elizabeth in a poor attempt to make conversation.

"Her father tried to turn me once a few decades ago." Liz explains with a shrug. "You?"

Liz resisted the urge to burst out laughing. "Seriously? Wow. Well congratulations to Kat, then." She says, not exactly politely.
