Vance laughed. "Its like being a human, except with extra powers, an additional guaranteed 50 years of life, and of course the ears." He brushed the cat ears on his head to make them perk up.

"Well it's not really something you can describe. You've got to experience it to know what vampirism is like. But I suppose I'll try..." Katrien begins, then thinks for a moment and continues. "Being a vampire can be hard to get used to at first, but after a while drinking blood, living forever, and avoiding getting too much sun just become normal. It can be lonely at times, especially since making human friends is nearly impossible, but it's not too bad. I don't really know how else to explain it, though."
